Towey's "Bayt" & Tackle was
established June 2006 by Terry and
Kaelea Runtz. The business is named after Terry's Granparents Irene & Bob Towey, who owned the land that our first location was situated on. Towey's was located on the shores of the Ottawa River on Towey's Bay, which is also named after Terry's Grandfather. Terry's Grandparents used this land as a beach for many years. Since opening the business, customers have shared their stories about times at Towey's Bay. As a child, Terry used to bike from the farm in Lochwinoch to his grandparents and spent countless hours swimming and fishing off the dock. Terry enjoyed every minute he spent with his grandparents and appreciated all they did for him and all they taught him so the least we could do is name the business after them.
